Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a meridian tapping technique which is used to neutralise negative emotional responses to events or triggers. Such emotions can be, sometimes crippling, fear, anger, sadness or pain and there can be many triggers that cause these emotions to flare up, getting in the way of us living our best life.
We are shaped by our past experiences and of course, this is what makes us such a diverse and colourful bunch of people. However, some of these past experiences are so strongly locked into our very being that every time there is a particular trigger, which could be something as seemingly innocuous as
the sound of waves crashing, a car horn or a baby crying, it’s like we relive that powerfully intense emotional response over and over again. And let’s face it, who needs to relive past traumas over and over?! EFT is a simple but clever technique that allows you to lock onto the memory behind the negative emotion and then release the emotional content. After the EFT session, you still have the memory but you lose the emotional charge connected with it. I became a practitioner of EFT over 20 years ago when a friend of mine showed me how powerful this techinique was using... chocolate (desire)! I have since used this technique successfully on myself and many others for phobias, anger issues, traumas, sadness and pain and am still surprised at how powerful this modality is and how quickly it helps to resolve the issues.
