Riverton Community Market

produce and crafts...

The next market is 27th April!

Riverton Community Market had it's first markets in February and March 2024 and they were very successful in terms of the number of people through the doors, the atmosphere created and the sales made. We will continue to hold this market on the last Saturday of every month.

Below are some of the creations and products that will be available to buy at the next market (please note: this is a work in progress and will be changing over the coming days).  Watch this space for future developments and please read the blog posts at the bottom of the page for an outline of the journey so far.

Slinky’s Sourdough was born of love in sleepy Orepuki. Made with only organic flour, water and salt and topped with various organic seeds and grains, Slinky’s sourdough is made by Sonia in a traditional way honouring her Ukrainian heritage . Since ancient times, bread in Ukraine has been considered sacred, a symbol of life, of happiness and friendship between people.  Part of the circle of life, bread is present at every meal and every special occasion in Ukraine whether it be to welcome newborns, bless newly weds, welcome guests or to lay someone to rest. Come and have a taste of this traditional bread!
