Our next market is Sunday 28th June!

Riverton Community Market is a great place to catch up with friends & family, find a boutique gift for someone special, and treat yourself to something nice! We hold this market on the last Sunday of every month fro 10am - 2pm (at Flecks Hall, opposite the supermarket) - watch this space for future developments..

Our intentions are to:

bring our community together on a regular basis,
support local enterprise (and encourage our children with their enterprises)
provide opportunities for local people to sell their crafts, products & produce,
facilitate our community in meeting local suppliers,
encourage sharing, giving and trading,
support local fundraisers,
encourage and support our local musicians
share knowledge,
HAVE FUN!

BAKING COMPETITION:

Exciting news!! We will hold a Chocolate Brownie Baking Competition at the next Riverton Community Market on Sunday the 28th June. Made by the community, judged by the community. So pull out your best recipes and get your bake on!

All entries must be at the market by midday which is when the taste testing starts. The prize is $75 cash! The winner will be announced at 1.30pm. Please provide the following information to go with your entry:

your name and phone number (this can be on the back of the card/paper)
the name of your entry and
the ingredient list.

Hi my name is Desiree and this is my story……… My sewing journey started many years ago when my kids were little. Back then, my sewing machine was constantly humming away as I stitched together tiny outfits for my two boys. Then, as life tends to do, things got busy. The kids grew, schedules filled up, and my trusty sewing machine spent a number of years gathering dust in the corner. Fast forward to recently, when I decided to make myself a wrap dress and absolutely fell in love with both the process and how it turned out. One dress quickly turned into another... and then another! Before long, wardrobe space was getting tight. Hmmm……. Lightbulb moment Why not create beautiful dresses for other women too? There's something magical about slipping on a dress that fits beautifully and makes you feel confident, comfortable, and effortlessly fabulous. Seeing someone light up when they find a dress they love is honestly my favourite part of what I do today. Each piece is lovingly handmade right here in my home, with a focus on comfort, flattering styles, and beautiful fabrics that make everyday dressing a joy. If you can't find quite the right colour or print among the dresses I have available, don't worry! You're welcome to supply your own fabric, and I'll happily create a dress especially for you. It's a wonderful way to get exactly the look you love while still enjoying a handmade piece created just for you. So come and have a browse, try on a dress, and say hello, I’d love to meet you.. After all, every great dress has a story—and this little sewing adventure is just the beginning of mine.

Frankenstuffies

They're stuffed animals with a "Frankenstein" inspired touch, and yes, each and every one is done by hand. Have you ever wondered what a giraffe kiwi cross would look like? How about a penguin lamb cross? Well wonder no further, because wow, do I have a solution for you! Frankenstuffies are stuffed animals that have been "Frankensteined together" to create these adorably odd teddies!

Feet Treats from Annette's sock room

I knit adult socks, both long and short raised heel, in both wool and merino. I dye the wool myself so no two socks are ever the same. I also make crocheted, fingerless gloves with same wool.

A Little Bit of Everything

With the cooler months arriving that means it's time to replenish the true Fresh Southern Cheese Roll. Made fresh for you to enjoy or stock up the freezer for Duck Shooting, Lambing, Calving or just to enjoy. My Cheese Rolls will be available at my stall until the end of August. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment, as they sell out fast.

I also have some beautiful wee scented soy candles with inspirational quotes on them to brighten you up on these grey dreary days.

Soothing Bath salts are a new addition to my stall this month. With the addition of beneficial Essential Oils and medicinal Bath Salts, formulated to relax the nervous system, soothe sore muscles and draw out toxins, leaving you feeling recharged and renewed.

Other products you'll find on my stall this month include, Homemade Vanilla Bean Products. Fresh vanilla beans have been imported from around the world and have been soaking in Smirnoff Red 21 Vodka for the last 18 months. My Vanilla Bean Extract has a little vanilla bean and caviar incorporated to make it the never ending product, just keep topping up with vodka as you use it. My Vanilla Bean Paste is so thick, a little goes such a long way.

All bottled up and ready for you to enjoy. Snack Attack Time - Organic Apple Chips make a great healthy snack made from this season's freshly hand picked organic apples with a wee sprinkle of cinnamon. Yummy!

Just Jerky is a very popular product, made from local grass fed beef and marinated for several days before it's slowly dried to give you a wonderful taste experience.

You'll also find Dehydrated Yogurt Drops, a healthy, mess free alternative to keep on hand for those unexpected snack times. Seed Crackers which are Keto friendly, and gluten, sugar, dairy and egg free. A real healthy 3pm snack. Come and try free samples while they last. There's something for everyone.

Freshly baked Afghans, Belgian, Custard Yoyo, Raspberry, Lemon or Lavender Melting Moment, Peanut Brownies and other favourite biscuits which will be in supply for you to enjoy. There's Scary Spiders, M&M Flowers, GingerBread men and Minions, to delight the wee shoppers. Baking comes in Gluten Free and Plain flour options.

A large selection of tasty Chutneys, Relishes and Jams all made from our own spray free fresh produce.

Samples will be available to try of my delicious Old Fashioned Ginger Beer. You can purchase the kits or an active bug and make your own or just purchase a ready made bottle or two.

Elderflower Cordial helps support your immune health, while the Elderberry Cordial helps support your immune system and lessen the impact during cold and flu symptoms, The Spiced blend is worth trying with added Ginger, Star Anise, and Cinnamon to give your immunity system an extra kick start at fighting off unwanted winter viral bugs.

Kefir Water in numerous flavours makes for a healthy choice of drink with its rich probiotic benefits which helps gut flora, improving immunity and overall health.

Natural Shaving Soap in a tin. This product has been handcrafted by myself, for my husband, who's been happily using it for a good few months now. Made from all natural ingredients with incorporated Essential Oils and Bentonite Clay to give a creamy lather, and a smooth close shave, leaving your skin soft and moisturized.

Natural Antiseptic Calendula Salve made from my homegrown calendula that's been infused for eight weeks and packed with the benefits of Mango and Shea Butters, Tea Tree oil, Lavender and Lemon Essential Oils. Perfect for all those ‘ouchie’ moments and handy to pack in your first aid kit.

Whipped Tallow Balm, made from the suet tallow of our local grass fed beef, has been whipped into a beautiful creamy texture with a little Jojoba Oil and beneficial Essential Oils. Safe for Baby to Elderly to use. Suitable for all skin types. Vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12 to help hydrate, soften skin. Beneficial for people who suffer from eczema and dry skin.

There's also Kawakawa Chickweed Balm, which is made from Sweet Almond Oil slowly infused with leaves from my healing Kawakawa plant, antimicrobial chickweed gathered from the yard and soothing essential oils. The Sweet Almond Oil is also beneficial for helping to restore dry cracked skin, healing eczema and psoriasis flare ups. Perfect at relieving itchy skin and healing minor scratches and scrapes.

Whipped Magnesium Cream, which has been designed to boost your magnesium levels, improve sleep, soothe aching muscles and sore joints, and relieve leg cramps. There's only a few jars of this, so don't miss out.

Rosehip Facial Serum has just been created from this season's freshly harvested Wild Rose Hips that have been gently dried and infused in a choice of moisturizing body oils and topped off with a choice of healing essential oil to intensely hydrate and brighten your skin from its rich essential fatty acids. Come and try a sample, only a few drops each night is recommended.

After Shower Body Oil is a luxurious treat, mixed from two plant oils with a dash of Vitamin E and a choice of beneficial Essential Oils to personalise your usage.

At the upcoming market I will be selling 3D printed bag charms and earrings, 3D printed vases, hand-drawn badges and magnets, cards and prints of my original artwork, linocuts and some of my needle felting. They are all my own original work and the 3D printed products are all completely unique designs I have created. Commission illustrations are available for magnets and badges. I will do an illustration of a photo of your pet while you walk around the market. All you need to do is have a suitable photo of your chosen pet on your phone or printed out on paper. A rough guide line for suitable photos is to have a clear shot of the pet’s face (the body is not required) with minimal blurring in the pet’s face. Make sure it is not a video.
