    May's Riverton Community Market

And there goes another beautiful market full of wonderful souls - both stall-holders and market goers (and their helpers)! This market was chokka - we were full to capacity inside and making full use of our outside space too. I love how this market has grown organically over the months - and I especially love how our local kids have got involved; this month we had Katie, who was running a stall with her granny, branching out on her own. Her stall - Katie's Kreations seemed to have a constant stream of children - with the temporary *tattoos being a big hit! Well done Katie!

Another young person at our market, making wooden items for sale (which he can make to order) - including raised planters, shelving and gates, is Patrick of Taramoa. He is also bringing a selection of seedlings for sale. Good on your Patrick!

The raffle this time was won by one of our stall-holders - Rata, who sells his beautifully carved greenstone (and whalebone) pendents and earrings. Thanks to everyone that bought tickets and supported our market!

We had four entries for our Savory Tart Baking Competition... I was actually quite impressed with the leek and onion tart that I made - fully cooked this time (haha!) and quite tasty, although not a winner. I doubled up the recipe and got to enjoy the leftovers with friends over the following couple of days. The winner was Jasmin - with her delicious Pumpkin, Feta, Caramelised Shallots and Chilli Tart. She has generously donated the $75 prize money back into the market.

Our next market falls on Sunday the 29th June. We will announce the baking competition over the next few weeks... we look forward to seeing you there!
