    Kakapo Creations

    7.png

Hi there, I'm Nina I run a small business here in Southland selling handmade herbal soaps, with a range of scents and textures to appeal to different people. I focus on using natural ingredients, with no artificial colours, scents or oils and use minimal, compostable packaging. I grow and dry my own herbs that feature in my soaps, making them truly one of a kind. 10% of sales go to a conservation based charity, at the moment it is the Kea Conservation trust. I also sell handmade polymer clay stitch markers, buttons and jewellery and sometimes seasonal produce when I sell at local markets.

    A Little Bit of Everything

New to my stall this month is a D.I.Y kitset Unicorn Bath Dust. This makes for a great stocking filler or small gift for the wee ones in your life.

I've been busy making home made Dark Chocolate Sauce. No dairy and No sugar, it has to be good for you! These jars of goodness make a delicious treat as a topping on ice cream, drizzled over hot pancakes, stirred into warm milk, or used as a dip for fruit or marshmallows. Dark Chocolate Sauce will become a family favourite, also making a delightful gift for all the chocolate lovers within your circle.

Homemade Vanilla Bean Products. Fresh vanilla beans have been imported from around the world and have been soaking in Smirnoff Red 21 Vodka for the last 13 months. My Vanilla Bean Extract has a little vanilla bean and seeds incorporated to make it the never ending product, just keep topping up with vodka as you use it. My Vanilla Bean Paste is thick with caviar, a little goes such a long way.  All bottled up and ready for you to enjoy.

You'll also find Dehydrated Yogurt Drops, a healthy, mess free alternative to keep on hand for those unexpected snack times. Come and try a sample.

I'm sharing my secret homemade Creamy Dark Hot Chocolate Powder, packed in cute wee jars for you to enjoy or gift to loved ones.

A good array of freshly baked Afghans, Belgian, Custard Yoyo, and Raspberry or Lemon Melting Moment, Peanut Brownies and other favourite biscuits which will be in supply for you to enjoy. Rudolph will be joining the Scary Spiders and Ginger Bread men to delight the wee shoppers.

Making a comeback is Granny's Brandy infused fruit Christmas cake, which has been loving handcrafted from a recipe that's been passed down through her family for the past three generations. Fruits and fresh citrus peels have been infused in Brandy to form a deep rich flavour enhanced with festive season spices.

A large selection of tasty Chutneys, Relishes and Jams all made from our own spray free fresh produce.

Not to forget - FLAVOURSOME Seasoning Mixes and Rubs. I've used my own homegrown dried herbs and chillies where possible. These mixes are perfect to add into casseroles or stews also, adding warm, tasty flavours to your cooking and all contain gluten free ingredients.
