Another beautiful market under our belts. It was a quiet one but then, it is the middle of winter and it's hard to get out of bed some mornings, let alone venture out into the cold if you absolutely don't have to! So you are totally forgiven if you didn't make it and hopefully we'll see you next time!
My morning was off to a slow start as I didn't sleep well the night before. I pulled one of the above cards which told me to ask my angels for help with a problem that's on my mind... I took that literally and asked Gareth and Love (of the School of Conscious Creation) if they could give me an energy boost --> I then got to enjoy a beautiful mini Reiki and sound healing session which took me on a journey and lifted my energy so I could get on with overseeing the market. Having two people consciously attend to you at once is just soooo good - I highly recommend!!
A bit later on, I received a heavenly massage from Sam (Aroha Massage) which highlighted to me just how tight my body is at the moment! It was pure bliss, sitting in the chair receiving such targeted work on my back as I enjoyed the live music from Liam and Morgan! Market bodywork is the best - make sure you book in if you have a desired timeslot so you don't miss out!! Thanks for the tunes guys and huge thankyou to Sam!!
Iri and Blair of Pai In This Kai were at the market with a delicious array of freshly baked foods, most of which had been snapped up by 11am! Blair even had to go home during the market and bake more banana bread. I absolutely love that they are offering their goods for barter/exchange - making them more affordable for members of our community. The baking competition was won this time by our lovely local girl, Beth who fashioned the most divine Ginger-Cheesecake Cookies (with a piped cream-cheese filling). She got to win the $75 prize and also a $20 voucher for Cafe 102 (I guess Cafe 102 are our first official sponsor - wooohoo!). There were four entries in total - each very unique and beautiful to behold but Beth's entry (number 1) won by a landslide - 13 more votes than any other entry! The other entries were a peanut biscuit, triple chocolate chip cookie and an oat and raisin number. Yuuuum. Thanks for your entries everyone and well done Beth - those cookies were well worthy of your win. (Recipe at the end of this post).
The raffle basket of love was won by Dan so those two were obviously on a winning streak!! Really glad these prizes went to a well deserving home and thanks everyone for your support of our market. Our next market falls on Sunday 30th August so I look forward to seeing you wonderful souls then! We will announce the next baking competition soon so watch this space!
