Aaaaand there’s another beautiful market under our belt, just like that! We had some of our beloved regular stall-holders but also a range of new ones with the most gorgeous items for sale. You will never know what to expect at these markets as each one will be different. What is the same though are the happy smiling faces of people catching up with friends and acquaintances – I love that!
This time I came away with a couple of mint plants, a delightful purple crocheted squid, a bottle of Kombucha and some home-made greeting cards. I always enjoy unpacking my treasures after a market!
The carrot cake baking competition was a lot of fun – serious looks on faces as all the judges contemplated flavours and decided on their favourite. A lovely French couple that were WWOOFing at our place told me they had never eaten carrot cake in their lives - apparently it’s not a thing in France. Anyway - they got to try five cakes, all of which were quite different. I think they were suitably impressed! Jasmin was the winner (once more!) but the contending cakes were all delicious so THANKS to those that took part. FYI: Jasmin is jackpotting the prize money over to the next market so the winner of that baking competition will win $150 – whoop whoop! We will announce what the competition will be over the coming weeks.
Kyllee, one of our new stall-holders, won the raffle - congrats Kyllee! It’s lovely to have you at the market and I hope you enjoy all the goodness that was in the basket knowing that it was made and then shared with love. And of course, big thanks to the stall-holders for your gorgeous contributions, they are much appreciated!
The next market falls on Sunday the 30th March, the same weekend as the Heritage Harvest Festival. We look forward to seeing you all there!
