January's Riverton Community Market 2025

It was a lovely, albeit quiet, market – probably due to the Aparima School Reunion and other events around the district being held at the same time. But that’s all good – the stall-holders got to catch up with each other and the live music was almost continual throughout, creating a lovely atmosphere, so big thanks to our beautiful musicians!

The baking competition was not a competition this time – haha, maybe the Berry Tart was a little ambitious... but Jasmin did create two wonderful berry tarts (with every part made from scratch) which she shared; one with blackcurrants and the other with cherries from the garden. They were absolutely delicious and I know everyone really appreciated the effort and time that went into them! (Gutted that I didn't get a picture - they really were gorgeous!)

The raffle was won by Alicia and Rose, who were absolutely stoked! The prizes are always beautiful and this time was no exception... Giselle’s lamp contribution and Mike’s boot taker-offerer (there probably is an actual name for such a device!) were pretty desirable and I know this pair bought 9 tickets so their odds were pretty good.  Happy for you guys!

The next Riverton Community Market market falls on the 23rd of Feb - the day after the Riverton Blues and Jazz festival at Tamamea Bay.  We will announce the baking competition soon on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/groups/rivertoncommunitymarket) and also on the website (www.activateandthrive.com/riverton-community-market) Look forward to seeing you there.. meanwhile - have an AWESOME month!
